Battle Of The Prairies Heads To Moose Jaw

Nov 25, 2023

The Saskatchewan Rush will host the Calgary Roughnecks at the Moose Jaw Event Centre tonight at 7PM.

Saskatchewan will field a much different roster than the 2022/23 season, with the additions of offensive stars Zach Manns and Patrick Dodds, a defensive leader in Adam Jay and experienced goaltender, Frank Scigliano.

The returnees on offence will be key in Robert Church, Ryan Keenan and Clark Walter, who broke out last season.

"After these past four weeks we're definitely starting to gel and we're playing fast, mean and moving the ball much better," Walter said. "The atmosphere is going to be great I hear, so it's super exciting. I know some of Calgary's fans are here as well and it's going to be a great game."

Well over 4000 fans are expected to pack MJEC tonight, an atmosphere that many could only dream of playing in front of.

"I've been in Saskatchewan for a long number of years and I know the support we get in Saskatoon comes from all across Saskatchewan," commented head coach Jimmy Quinlan. "It's a really special opportunity."

On the other side of the floor, the Roughnecks feature a handful of former Rush members like Jeff Cornwall, Dan Taylor and Josh Currier, both forwards for Calgary.

Saskatchewan is 14-9 all-time against Calgary since the Rush moved to town in 2016.

Tickets for tonight's game can be bought here

Fans who are unable to make it to Moose Jaw tonight, can listen to the game as Cody Janzen has the call starting at 6:45PM on 92.9 The Bull.
