Boudreau scores twice in back and forth thriller

Saskatoon, SK - Saturday night at SaskTel Centre, Saskatchewan and Rochester battled it out in a back-and-forth tilt, with the Knighthawks pulling away late. 

 

The Rush jumped out to a 3-2 lead in the first quarter thanks to goals from Zach Manns, Nathaniel Kozevnikov and Jake Boudreau. 

 

At the half, the game was level at seven a piece as Boudreau, Robert Church (x2) and Clark Walter found the back of the net. 

 

Saskatchewan would find themselves trailing 11-10 after the third quarter despite goals from Manns, Walter and Mike Triolo. 

 

In the final frame, Mike Messenger, Patrick Dodds, Manns and Ryan Keenan put the home side up 14-13 with just over five minutes to go, but the Knighthawks didn’t go away, clawing out a 16-14 win. 

 

Jake Boudreau finished the game with two goals, two assists and a team-high, 13 loose balls. Saskatchewan was outshot 56-50 in the game, with the powerplay going 2/4 and the penalty kill 2/6. Frank Scigliano made 40 saves in the loss.

 

Next up, the Rush will head to Las Vegas to take on the Desert Dogs on Friday, Dec 15.
