Kiazyk leads Ravens to first place regular season finish

Oct 23, 2023

Goaltender Thomas Kiazyk, a Saskatchewan Rush second round pick (20th overall) in 2023, has led Carleton University to an impressive 8-2 regular season record this fall.

The Ravens play in the Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA), which has 14 teams and two conferences out east.

Kiazyk, who already has a Founders Cup and Minto Cup under his belt, led the league (for goalies who played over 500 minutes) with a 6.95 goals against average.

The Stittsville, ON product had a phenomenal regular season, holding three teams to five goals or less in a game.

CU finished atop the East Standings, ahead of McGill and last year’s Baggataway Cup champs, the Trent Excalibur. Kiazyk and crew will take on Bishop’s to open up the playoffs on Sunday, October 29th.

The Baggataway Cup is handed out annually to the CUFLA champions. Carleton University has never hoisted the trophy in club history.
