PREVIEW: Saskatchewan vs Albany (Jan 25)

Saskatoon, SK – Saturday night on Co-op Field, the Saskatchewan Rush host the Albany FireWolves in SaskTel Centre. 

Saskatchewan is 4-2 on the season, tied for third in the NLL standings after an 11-8 loss to the Toronto Rock. Ryan Keenan led the way with six points in the game, while Zach Manns leads the team with 31 points this season. Between the pipes, Frank Scigliano stopped 43/53 in the contest, moving his season save percentage to .795. The Rush could be without defender Isaac Ngyou who left the game against Philadelphia on December 28th in the first half and Jerrett Smith who was injured against Las Vegas on January 11th

You again???: Saskatchewan and Albany have slowly built up a bit of a rivalry in the NLL, with this being their third meeting in just over a calendar year. These two teams kicked off the 24/25 season on November 30th in Albany where Austin Shanks scored the overtime winner in a Rush 10-9 win.

Albany is 2-5 this season but coming off a 13-10 win over the Colorado Mammoth inside MVP Arena. Ethan Walker had two goals and six assists in the win, while Alex Simmons leads the club with 42 total points. Doug Jamieson stopped 42/52 in his last outing, while holding a .801 SV% this year. 

Overtime Openline: The last two games between Saskatchewan and Albany have ended up going to overtime, along with three of the FireWolves first five games this season. 

Faceoff from Co-op Field is at 7:00PM Sask time. Viewers in Canada can watch the game on NLL+ and TSN+, with those in America on My4 (WNA) and ESPN+ with Cody Janzen, John Fraser and Heather Morrison on the call. Following the game, Rush fans can catch the official post-game show live from the turf with Janzen and Fraser during team autographs.
