Jan 8, 2025Saskatoon, SK –– The Saskatchewan Rush (3-1) and Las Vegas Desert Dogs (1-4) will battle it out on Co-op Field at SaskTel Centre on Saturday, January 11th.
The Rush are coming off a 12-11 overtime loss against the Philadelphia Wings on home floor. Mike Triolo led the way with four goals and five points, while Brock Haley had four points. Between the pipes, Frank Scigliano made 38 saves in the loss, putting his season save percentage at .797. The Rush could be without forward Robert Church who suffered a lower body injury on December 14th against Halifax and defender Isaac Ngyou who left the game against Philly in the first half.
New Year's Resolutions: The Saskatchewan Rush enter 2025 hoping for healthy bodies after missing Robert Church, Austin Shanks and Adam Jay in their last game against Philly, but historically have had success against Vegas, going 3-0 all time vs the Desert Dogs.
Las Vegas picked up their first win of the season a week ago in Albany, defeating the FireWolves, 12-11 in overtime. Jackson Webster scored a hat trick in his first NLL game to lead the way on offence, while Adam Poitras had the game winner. Goaltender Landon Kells stopped 48 shots for the victory.
Whitby Boys: 2022 Minto Cup champions with the Whitby Warriors, Adam Poitras and Brock Haley will face off for the first time in the National Lacrosse League on Saturday.
Faceoff from Co-op Field is at 7:00PM Sask time. Viewers in Canada can watch the game on NLL+ and TSN+, with those in America on ESPN+ and SSSEN, Fox 5 in Nevada with Cody Janzen, John Fraser and Sabeen Ahmad on the call.
