Rush Sign Kiazyk, Zawada, Belair for 2026/27 Season
Sep 29, 2026Saskatoon, SK - It's been another busy day for the Rush as they sign 3 more key members of the team's future in Thomas Kiazyck, Josh Zawada, and Julien Belair.
Kiazyk was drafted in the second round of the 2023 NLL Entry Draft and has served as Frank Sciglianos' backup goalie for the previous two seasons. Kiazyk started one game last season against Rochester, stopping 52 of 65 shots.
Josh Zawada was drafted 29th overall in the 2023 NLL Entry Draft. The righty appeared in all 18 games last season, recording 8 goals and 22 points in 18 games played for the Rush.
Julien Belair was primarily on the practice roster with the Rush last season. Belair also plays lacrosse full time with the University of Ottawa Gee Gee's. Belair currently has 22 goals and 29 points through 5 games played with the Gee Gee's this season.
